Availability rules

The Availability screen holds rules that stop some of your products from being sold in an environment, country, currency or channel. Use it when a product must not be offered somewhere, for example outside the countries you are licensed in.

How a rule workslink

A rule blocks sales. When a request for one of your products matches every field the rule sets, that product is unavailable for the request. A field you leave empty matches anything.

For example, a rule in Live with product id PROD_1 and countries KE, UG stops PROD_1 being sold in Kenya and Uganda in production. It does not affect PROD_1 in other countries, and it does not affect your other products.

When a rule blocks a product, the Products screen shows it as Unavailable with the reason DENIED_BY_RULE: followed by the rule id.

What the list showslink

Use the Test and Live buttons at the top to choose an environment. The screen opens on Live.

The list shows every availability rule that names your company in that environment:

  • Your rules, with their scope, which you can edit or delete.
  • Platform-owned rules, which NetApps InsureTech created for your company. They show a Platform-owned badge and are read-only.

Who can change ruleslink

Owners, admins and members with the Availability group can add, edit and delete your rules. Members with the Viewer group can see them.

Other reasons a product is unavailablelink

Availability rules are only one of the checks. A product can also be unavailable because its status in your API is not Active, your company status does not allow sales in that environment, or its commercial terms are not active in live. The Products and mapping guide lists every reason.
